From One Pet Supplement To Two Million Dog A Year

Twenty years ago, YuMOVE started with one product, inspired by one dog. Today, it's the UK's no.1 pet supplement brand and the UK's no.1 vet-recommended joint supplement brand, supporting more than two million dogs every year.*

The company marked its 20th anniversary today with a birthday celebration, bringing together around 50 YuMOVE influencers and community members at Willen Lake, Milton Keynes, to celebrate two decades of pet health innovation.

YuMOVE was founded in 2006 by Dr John Howie and John Davies, who set out to make effective, science-backed pet supplements more accessible to owners. Its first product, YuMEGA, was a skin-and-coat oil - followed in 2009 by YuMOVE Joint Care, the product that would come to define the brand.

What started as a single supplement has since grown into a business offering more than 45 products across six core health areas - joint, digestive, dental, skin & coat, calming and multivits/everyday wellness - all built on 20 years of scientific research.

That growth has been recognised along the way: two Queen's Awards for Enterprise in 2016 and 2018, followed by the first King's Award for Enterprise and B Corp certification in 2023 - accolades that reflect both the company's commercial growth and its ethical standards. At the brand’s anniversary event the business recognised the contribution of long-serving employees, including Amanda Smith, who has worked with the company for 12 years, and Hollie Powell (11 years) and Kathryn Hall (10 years), among more than 30 colleagues who have been with YuMOVE for five years or more.
