The Canine Dietitian Award Finalist

Yorkshire female dog business founder announced as a finalist for a national prestigious award.

Leeds Born Sally Barker, Founder of The Canine Dietitian, has been selected from hundreds of other women business owners as a finalist for an Everywoman award.

The awards showcase extraordinary female founders at all stages in their entrepreneurial journeys. Now in their 21st year the Everywoman Awards are the UK’s longest running awards-based recognition programme. They recognise woman from all back grounds, who have thrived in the face of adversity, and who have built businesses from the ground up to scale and grow.

Sally Barker, Found of the Canine Dietitian has been announced as a finalist for the social star award, an award for a business that has grown solely through utilising social media. Sally quit her 17-year career in Recruitment to retrain as a dog nutritionist and set up The Canine Dietitian after losing her dog to Cancer.  Her business mission is to help owners navigate dog diet and wellness and to help businesses formulate fresh dog food products.  She has seen substantial growth through building her business on social media and providing education to other dog owners online. Sally Now works internationally in over 14 countries and is formulating for several dog food brands.  Beyond her business, Sally is committed to raising awareness of ADHD in women and utilising her business platform to speak about mental health.

Selected from Hundreds of entries, the 2023 finalists are all at different stages of their entrepreneurial journey, from six figure businesses to solopreneurs starting out.  There’s also a mix of industries, spanning health and wellness, children’s care to veterinarians and eco cleaning products. Finalists were chosen by a judging panel that Includes Connie Nam (Founder of Astrid and Miyu), Libby Gibson (Partner at Piper PE LLP), Suzanne Brock (Managing Director Nutriment) Yvonne Nagawa (Chief of staff, Black Seed Ventures), amongst others.

Everywoman has built a community of over 50,000 women internationally and has been at the forefront of gender equality in the workplace since it was founded in 1999.

The Awards winners will be announced at a live ceremony in London on 6th December 2023.
